For the fifth year in a row, Halloween Town is returning to the Seaport World Trade Center. Presented by iParty for the benefit of The Kids Fund at Boston Medical Center, entertainment will once again include People magazine’s Crown Prince of contemporary kids’ music, the Grammy-winning Dan Zanes & Friends.

While Dan Zanes takes the main stage, the rest of the Seaport World Trade Center will be transformed into a 70,000 sq. ft. carnival, replete with jugglers, dancers, and other musicians, as well as “scare rated” interactive games and kid friendly activities, including:
• Interaction with a “real” ghost
• Meet and greets with movie, book, and cartoon characters
• LazerTag
• Favorite tales read aloud in the MonsterPiece Theater
• iParty Birthday Lab
• Pepsi Monster Midway
• Haunted Mine
• Farmers Market
• The Swamp
Last year, Halloween Town boasted over 15,000 guests and gave away more than 120,000 pieces of candy. Constantly growing, this year it’s bound to become the season’s highlight for toddlers to 12 year olds.

Joining this year’s festivities is the Environmental Protection Agency. One of four stops on the Change the World, Start with Energy Star campaign tour, the EPA is bringing their Tour Exhibit House to Halloween Town. In partnership with National Grid, visitors can learn how to help their budgets and the environment, saving some green in both cases, though not necessarily of the Frankenstein variety.

Proceeds from Halloween Town will go to The Kids Fund at Boston Medical Center. In addition to the 25,000 local children who receive care at BMC, the hospital has, through the fund, provided clothing, mattresses, and other basic items to Boston’s neediest children since 1984. The Kids Fund also supports other BMC programs such as the Preventive Food Pantry and Demonstration Kitchen, the Medical-Legal Partnership, and the Child Witness to Violence Project.
