A Whimsical Winnie-the-Pooh Experience for Families
Join Winnie the Pooh and friends in this hands-on, storybook-themed exhibit filled with imagination, play, and sweet surprises.
If you’ve ever wished you could walk straight into the pages of a Winnie-the-Pooh storybook, now’s your chance.
The Boston Children’s Museum has transformed its temporary exhibit space into the magical Hundred Acre Wood, offering families an enchanting journey alongside beloved characters like Pooh, Piglet, Eeyore, Tigger, and the whole gang.
We recently got a firsthand look at the exhibit - and we’re excited to share everything you need to know about this delightful new experience, running now through September 28, 2025.
An Immersive, Storybook-Style Adventure
This isn’t just a themed corner - it’s a full-blown, multi-sensory environment where kids can crawl, climb, bounce, and explore through carefully crafted settings inspired by A.A. Milne’s classic tales.

When we stepped into the Boston Children’s Museum last weekend, we were greeted by a familiar friend — Winnie-the-Pooh. The new exhibit feels like walking straight into the Hundred Acre Wood.
I enjoyed seeing kids darting from one corner to the next, discovering interactive displays, while I lingered over little details that reminded me of the stories I grew up with. It’s one of those rare exhibits that feels as magical for parents as it does for children.
Visitors can wander through charming scenes like:
-
Eeyore’s Gloomy Place
-
Piglet’s Patch
-
Rabbit’s House & Garden
-
Kanga’s Kitchen
-
A delightful sandy “bouncy” pit for Tigger fans
-
And even cozy up with a book in Owl’s Library
At the center of it all is Pooh’s thoughtful spot—perfect for pondering big questions (like where the next honey snack is coming from).

Five Rotating Chapters – Come Back for More!
The exhibit features a rotating storyline, with a new "chapter" rolling out every few weeks. Each visit can feel fresh, whether you're hopping in once or planning multiple returns. Here's the current schedule:
-
May 30 – June 22: Introduction to Pooh and Bees
-
June 25 – July 13: Heffalumps & Woozles
-
July 14 – August 3: Eeyore’s Birthday & Lost Tail
-
August 4 – 24: All About Tiggers
-
August 25 – September 28: Rabbit’s Busy Day
These changing themes help bring new elements to the space—and offer a great reason to return over the summer and early fall.

The Honey Hunt: An Optional Add-On Experience
Looking for a little extra adventure? Families can also opt into the Hundred Acre Wood Honey Hunt—a separate, 30-minute interactive experience designed for kids ages 4 and up.
In this live-action puzzle, young visitors team up to help Christopher Robin gather honey and picnic supplies by solving playful challenges around the space. This add-on is a $12 ticketed experience, and it’s available during select time slots throughout the week.
💡 Note: The main exhibit space closes to general admission during Honey Hunt blocks, usually 9:00–11:00am and 2:00–4:00pm—so plan your visit accordingly.

Great for Photos & Imaginative Play
From Rabbit’s adorable garden to the bouncing sandy pit and Eeyore’s cozy (if a bit gloomy) nook, this exhibit is full of Instagram-worthy moments. Bring your camera—your little one will be grinning ear to ear.
We especially loved the reading spaces and simple interactive moments that bring the spirit of Milne’s stories to life. There’s a gentle charm to this space that resonates with both kids and grown-ups alike.

Final Thoughts
The Hundred Acre Wood exhibit captures everything I love about the Boston Children’s Museum — it’s interactive, whimsical, and truly designed with families in mind. For us, it felt like the perfect summer outing, especially with a character as timeless as Winnie-the-Pooh at the center.
Whether your child is bouncing like Tigger, helping Rabbit tend the garden, or curling up with a story in Owl’s Library, there are countless little moments to enjoy. I’d recommend this exhibit to any family looking for a mix of play, nostalgia, and discovery.
This charming exhibit sparks the imagination of children while stirring sweet nostalgia for parents who grew up with Winnie the Pooh’s timeless tales. It’s a joy to pass along these gentle stories of friendship, curiosity, and nature to a new generation.
Grown-ups will especially appreciate the thoughtful historical touches - like the vintage Little Golden Book on display, which brought back memories of a well-loved copy I had as a child (above). Smiles and memories abound for all ages.
